Join me this Friday from 7-8pm for a lesson in Cha-cha. Cha-cha is a great dance for lots of Pop, Country and Top40 music, as well as the usual Latin Cha-cha songs. Stay for the dance that follows the lesson until 10:30pm. You’ll have a few more chances to practice what you learned.
P.S. The Cha-cha dance originated from Cuba and was originally known as the cha-cha-cha. The dance gained popularity around the 1950’s and was created from two other dances – the ‘mambo’ and the ‘danzon’. It is danced to themusicof the same name introduced by the Cuban composer and violinist Enrique Jorrín in the early 1950s.
“Don’t forget to bring your dry dancing shoes and change when you get inside.
This saves the floor and avoids slippery wet spots where someone could slip and fall.”
