Dave’s Desk,
Please make sure you save the date for September 29th. It’s a Saturday Special Dance Event. We will be celebrating the Rockin’ Horse Dance Barn turning 20 and the building turning 60 years as well. We are still planning all the details for the evening. There will be a big discount for advance tickets so make sure you plan ahead and get your tickets as soon as we have them ready.
This Friday
This Friday the 31st I’ll be teaching Western Waltz at the pre-dance lesson at 7pm. Western Waltz is a great dance for anyone at any level of experience. I’ll start the lesson with the basic and some really practical turns for the new dancers and later we’ll add those extra things you experienced dancers like to learn. The dance follows the lesson at 8pm until 11pm.
Upcoming Dance Classes
Our next series of Group Dance classes is starting right after Labor Day. We have already had lots of NEW students registering over the last couple weeks. It’s exciting to see that more people are hearing about us and finding us on the web and by word-of-mouth. Thank you all for telling others about the fun we provide here. Be sure YOU register early too so you can get the early discount and reserve your spot in the classes you want to take. It is possible that we will hit the maximum size of a class and you can’t join. The reverse can also happen where people procrastinate and we cancel a class. Then they walk in on the night of the class and are disappointed. So again, please register early. If you are coming without a partner we definitely need your early registration so we can attempt to balance the classes for leads and follows.

NEW CLASSES
Turns, Spins, Technique & Role Reversal (September) NEW
This 5-week series, taught by Debbie Cook, is for everyone. Leads & Follows and Men & Women can benefit from learning how to turn better and work on their technique. The other part of the class is called Role Reversal. This is where leads learn by following and the follows learn by leading. It is a big help for lots of dancers and it’s fun too. Class size will be limited so register early to reserve your spot. Tuesdays 6:30pm.
Cha-cha (September) NEW
This 5-week series of Cha-cha is a beginner level class taught by Debbie Cook. Cha-cha is a fun and versatile dance that goes to many genres of music. Learn how to lead or follow along with the footwork, rhythm and turns. Tuesdays at 7:30pm. Join us this Friday for a preview of Cha-cha with Debbie as she teaches the pre-dance lesson at 7pm.
Turning & Traveling Waltz (September) NEW
This is a new class taught by Dave Serfling. Learn how to travel and turn in Waltz. It is a beginner class but even experienced Waltz dancers can learn a few new moves from this class including Tandem Turns and a peek into Cross-step Waltz. This class is a blend of different Waltz styles meant to give you a nice repertoire of Waltz turns. Tuesdays 8:30pm.
