Dave Serfling

Dave Serfling (DJ, Instructor, +) 1988 - present
is a Professional DJ, MC, Event Planner, Reception Coordinator, Dance Instructor and Entertainer. He has been teaching dance classes since 1988 at which time his students began to hire him to DJ their weddings and birthday parties. In addition he has entertained at many retirement & company parties, baptisms, bar/bat mitzvahs, and more. He now owns and operates The Rockin' Horse Dance Barn. Terry West
Terry West (DJ, Instructor) 2009 - present
has provided Seattle area swing dancers with weekly West Coast Swing classes and dances since 1988.
Terry is recognized as one of the top West Coast Swing DJs in the nation. He has been the primary DJ for the Seattle Swing Dance Club and Seattle’s Easter Swing Convention for many years and has been on the DJ Staff for the US Open and Phoenix Swing Conventions.Terry has performed at the Barn off and on over the years. He started on Thursday nights in 2009.

Ron Bolin

Ron Bolin (DJ+, Instructor) 2002 - present
Ron is our DJ for the 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturday night dances. He has been performing at singles dances and other events since 1989. He teaches many of the "pre-dance" lessons before the dances he is DJing. He also teaches dance lessons in the Seattle area as well as playing the music for many dances in the area.

Jeannette Baker (DJ, Instructor) 2008 - 2012
started dancing at the RHDB and received her training from Dave Serflng. She has a background in personal training and equestrian instruction and competition. She loves to dance and it shows in the way she dedicates her time to her students.

Shakiah Danielson

Shakiah Danielson (Instructor) 2012
Shakiah is a certified Zumba Instructor and has been teaching Hip-Hop and other forms of dance. She Joined our staff in April 2012.
Mike Kheriaty
Mike Kheriaty (Instructor) 2011
Mike is a Ballroom style dance instructor and performer and has been teaching in the Seattle area and promoting lessons for all levels and ages since 2006.
His interest is to help dancers learn to reach their goals in dance whether as a social dancer, a competitor in dancesport , or as a performer.

Patti Conley

Patti Conley (Instructor) 2005
Patti has been dancing since 1997. She feels very lucky to have found her passion. West Coast Swing was her first style and continues to be her favorite with Argentine Tango running a close second.  She has learned many styles of dance and loves them all! She started teaching at The Rockin' Horse with Marc Imlay in 2005.

Tom Story

Tom Story (DJ, Instructor)
Tom (and Kathy) started teaching Line Dancing in 1998 and began DJing birthday parties and small parties shortly after that. He enjoys sharing the line dance and partner dance experience with others leaning toward the country side of life.

Jeff House

Jeff House
Jeff' started teaching Dance at the Orion Ballroom Studio in 2006. He has competed in American Smooth and is still taking students to competitions about every 3 months. He taught Ballroom, Latin and Swing dancing in Privates and Group Lessons from 2006-2009.

Katie Marie

Katie Marie
Katie Marie started teaching at a Dance Studio In Oklahoma. She moved to Renton in 2000 and taught private lessons and small group lessons. She got married and moved back to Oklahoma in 2007.

Randy Carter

Randy Carter
Randy has studied Ballroom, Latin, Swing, Country, Jazz, Contemporary and Ballet dance in the Seattle Area since 1994. Randy started teaching at RHDB 2004. He got married and now lives in or near Canada.

Bob Mathers

Bob Mathers (DJ+)
Bob has spent more than 2 decades at oldies stations back east (and in Seattle, RHDB 2006). He’s worked stage shows with The Four Tops, Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, Freddy Cannon, Lou Christie, Lesley Gore, Bobby Lewis, Sonny Bono and w/the legendary Buddy Deane.
